5 Unique Ways to Find Talent

Many businesses are experiencing difficulty in finding talent due to low unemployment rate and an overall talent shortage.

Here are some ways to be more creative when looking for your next employee:

  1. Use reference calls to your advantage

    When conducting reference checks for successful candidates, mention other roles the company is hiring for and ask the manager whether they know of anyone suitable in their personal or professional network.

  2. Marketing

    Work with the marketing team to create targeted creative campaigns for each role e.g. if hiring a recruiter, conduct a LinkedIn campaign.

  3. Advertise in remote locations

    Many roles today can be done remotely, so why not use this to your advantage and advertise in unique locations. This will allow the ad to get more attention due to fewer employers advertising in the same area.

  4. Use LinkedIn to its full capacity

    Make use of LinkedIn recruiter, especially InMail messages. To increase attraction share interactive content within the messages. Additionally, build employer branding on LinkedIn with weekly posts and updates.

  5. Develop partnerships

    Partner with local universities or industry bodies to source talent. For example if looking for HR graduates partner with local universities HR faculty.
